My name is Ann Crowell. I am married with one child, Keri, age 22. My husband and I are part of the Body of Christ and we love to worship Jesus and proclaim Him to be Lord of our lives.

My birth center is located at 1817 Harwood Court in Hurst. I do home births and birth center births. I have been a licensed Midwife for twenty-two years. I have been a primary midwife, and/or a primary birth assistant at over 900 births. I have received professional certification by the Association of Texas Midwives. I have also been decreed by the North American Registry of Midwives as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). This is the highest educational honor given by the Midwives Alliance of North America. (MANA) I have also taken and passed the midwifery course offered by the Texas Department of Health.

My name is Sarah Jones and I am a Certified Professional Midwife with the North American Registry of Midwives and a Licensed Midwife with the State of Texas. I work as a home birth midwife in the Dallas/ Fort Worth as well as at Gentle Beginnings Birth Center.

As a midwife I am very holistic in my approach to pregnancy and birth. Nutrition and healthy lifestyle are key to having healthy mom and baby. I will walk along side you and your partner to make this a fun and educational transition for both of you.

Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself and my back ground.

I'm married to the most wonderful man, Drew Jones! I moved to Texas in 2007 to pursue midwifery after spending most of my life living and working overseas. Here is a brief summary of what influenced my love and passion for families expecting a new member in their family.

I have had the privilege of attending births at home for the past 28 years, attending approximately 2000 births. I am also now offering to do births at Gentle Beginnings Birth Center as well. I feel it is an honor to be with families during such a special event and to encourage women in the wonderfully intense time of labor and birth. It is my goal to have a satisfied, happy, healthy mom and baby, and to do that at home or the Birth Center if possible.

I first became interested in midwifery while working in Labor and Delivery in a hospital in Irving. Although I loved my job, I felt that things could and should be done differently to make birth a more positive experience for families. I felt strongly that women should be treated with more respect and kindness as they worked to give birth and should be allowed -and even encouraged to bond with their babies in the first few hours after birth. When I left the hospital setting I discovered a whole new world of alternative methods and have never doubted that this is the call of God on my life.

Introducing GBBC's New Staff Midwife

*** Accepting new patients at a discounted rate ***

My name is Angela Friesen. I have been married for 13 years and have two wonderful daughters. My family is my precious gift from the Lord. My call to midwifery began in 2006 when I was invited to attend a home birth. That experience ignited a desire to serve women, who by God’s design give birth to their children in an environment of peace and love. It impacted my view of what childbirth should look like, not the beeping and alarms of machines but the songs of birth a mother sings and the soft cry a baby gives to let us know what he thinks about the whole process.
